Silver Moon

$5,800

Also known as Blue Hors Silver Moon, Silvermoon is a classical representative of the Pasteur/Mahagoni sire line. As a scion of this line, he amply demonstrates his abilities as both a performance horse and a sire of international quality. Silvermoon won the Trakehner Licensing at Neumuenster in 1993 and was the Danish Trakehner champion in 1995. He then advanced in the following years to Grand Prix, and produced spectacular offspring. His sire, Kostolony, was winner of his stallion approval and ranks among the leading Trakehner sires of modern times with an overall breeding index of 121 and a dressage index of 124. Silvermoon is linebred to the great stallion Mahagoni in the third generation of his sire, and the second generation of his dam (3 X 2). Kostolony has created his own high-class branch of the family with Tolstoi--sire of champion stallions Showmaster and Sans Souci, not to mention the late world-class performer and sire, Gribaldi who in turn sired Totilas ridden to record scores and a 2010 World Equestrian Games individual gold medal by Edward Gal.On his dam's side, Silvermoon carries the blood of great grandsire Maharadscha, one of the great foundation Trakehner sires known for stamping the Trakehner breed. Silvermoon's dam, the elite mare, Suleiken, was highly awarded at federal and state level shows. Given that she bore just 6 foals as a result of her early death, she has proven to be a breeding gem, with two "Premium Stallions" (including Schampus, also trained up to S level dressage) and 2 award-winning fillies with their own top-quality offspring. Suleiken comes from the line of Suska, by Heilespont, which has its roots in the famous brown herd of the main stud of Trakehnen, the oldest and most valuable family of the Trakehner breed. In Denmark, Silvermoon has already left a line of excellent offspring. As a sire, his most notable offspring is the fabulous Blue Hors Matine, winner of the Grand Prix Special bronze medal, the Grand Prix Kur silver medal at the 2006 World Equestrian Games, and a 2006 World Cup qualifier. Silvermoon's son, E.H. Cadeau, was awarded the premium title at his licensing and now stands at Gestüt Hörstein where he has produced numerous licensed stallions. Many of Silvermoon's offspring are successful in sport up to Grand Prix, and they are marked by the father's expressive character, as well as his distinction and harmony in terms of noble physique.
